How to connect Messenger
Connect your Facebook Page to NexusBot so Messenger chats arrive in your inbox.
NexusBot connects to Messenger through your Facebook Page. Once connected, anyone who messages your Page on Messenger appears in your NexusBot Inbox, with their name and profile photo, next to your WhatsApp and Telegram chats.
Before you start
- You need a Facebook Page for your business (a personal profile won't work).
- The Facebook account you sign in with must be able to manage that Page.
Connect your Page
- Open Messenger settings. Go to Settings → Messenger and click Connect.
- Sign in with Facebook. A Facebook window opens. Log in and continue.
- Choose your Page. Select the Page you want to connect.
- Allow access. Review the permissions and click Save. This lets NexusBot receive and send Messenger messages for that Page.
- Check the status. You'll see Connected in NexusBot.
Test it
From another Facebook or Messenger account, send a message to your Page. It should appear in your NexusBot Inbox within a few seconds with a Messenger badge. Reply from the Inbox and check the reply arrives in Messenger.
Good to know
- 24-hour window. You can reply to a customer for 24 hours after their last message. After that, wait for them to message you again.
- Customers message first. You can't start a Messenger chat with someone who has never messaged your Page.
- AI replies. If you've turned on AI replies, your AI agent can answer Messenger chats too.
- Channel limit. Messenger counts as one of the channels allowed by your plan.
If something isn't working
If messages stop arriving, go to Settings → Messenger. If it says Needs reconnecting, click Connect again and choose your Page. This usually happens after you change your Facebook password or your admin access to the Page.
