Step 5: Turn on AI replies

Set up your AI agent, teach it about your business, test it, then let it reply to customers.

Your AI agent answers customers using what you teach it. You can let it reply on its own, or just use it to draft replies for your staff.

1. Set up the agent

Go to AI Agents in the left menu and open the Setup tab.

  1. Choose the provider. Leave it on NexusBot. It's included with your plan, so there's no key to enter.
  2. Describe your business. In Business context & instructions, write a few lines about what you sell, your tone and what the AI must not promise. For example: "We are Kedai Kopi Aurora in Kota Kinabalu. Be friendly and short. Never confirm delivery dates. Pass those to a staff member."
  3. Add your knowledge. Under Knowledge base, click Add document. Paste your FAQs, price list, opening hours, or return policy. Add one document per topic.
  4. Save.

2. Test it in the Playground

Open the Playground tab and ask the questions your customers usually ask. If an answer is wrong, add or fix the document in the knowledge base and test again.

3. Switch it on

Back on the Setup tab:

  • Enable AI assistant turns on the Draft with AI button in the Inbox, so staff can create a reply with one click.
  • Auto-reply to inbound messages lets the AI answer new messages by itself. It only replies when no staff member is assigned to the chat.
  • Max auto-replies per conversation stops the AI after a set number of replies in one chat.
  • Hand off to chooses who gets the chat when the AI can't help.

How many AI replies do I have?

The top of the AI Agents page shows NexusBot AI replies used this month. The monthly limit depends on your plan.
